Log Book – Don’t rely on your memory to recall the whole of your trip in flawless detail. Why take the risk of forgetting something important when you don’t have to? You only need to keep an old-fashioned notebook and pencil or pen or a more up-to-date electronic notebook to keep exact and complete records of your sightings.

Food and Water (Yours) – So you won’t miss out on anything by having to leave your bird watching post to go and buy provisions.

Food and Water (Theirs) – So you can lure bluebirds closer to you. Be sure that you've researched exactly what food they would normally eat and don't take just any old seed mixture or whatever you would put out in your garden.
